This tracker is "powered" into the vehicle battery by simple connection to the terminals, but NOT permanently "hard-wired", allowing removal & refitted to another vehicle. Made of pressed steel, it is weatherproof & has holed flanges for fixing to the inside of the engine bay (inner wing or bulk head etc.). Before fitting you must first activate it using a SIM card inserted, in the same way as the other tracker model (911) shown. Please refer to the guide for installing & activating the SIM card by clicking on the other tracker image: Details are shown in the "pop up". It comes with instructions for SIM card installation & activation. Unlike the 911 Personal tracker with all its functions in-built, this vehicle tracker provides the same functions as "extensions" as follows; 1. GPS Antenna 2. GPRS Antenna 3. Control Keypad 4. "SOS" cable 5. Microphone 6. Speaker Except the GPRS Antenna that screws directly into the tracker, all other functions are supplied on leads that "plug-in" to sockets in the unit, allowing them to be "extended" into the drivers cabin for operation. By establishing appropriate entry in the bulk head for "feeding-through" from/to the engine bay/interior, this should be a DIY operation providing a more permanent fixture (but not "hard-wired") with power supply from the battery. Please note; this tracker may not be appropriate to set up in a vehicle with a rear battery (in the boot). When setting up itis essential that the "top" of the GPS antenna is "in-sight", & positioned for satellite reception in order for it to work. For example, it can be placed on the dashboard top, or the exterior of the vehicle on the wing or bonnet (the antenna top is magnetic for secure attachment). Please see the images to the left demonstrating these two positions. The antenna top measures approximately 40mm square by 15 mm high. This is a straightforward DIY fitting procedure, providing full tracking of your own vehicle(s) yourself using the GoogleEarth software supplied: Ideal for managing a small to medium size business with a fleet upto 100 (showing drivers in different route colours). Nb. GoogleEarth is FREE for single vehicle use, but there is a charge for commercial use; please ensure read GoogleEarths Terms & Conditions of use. Avoids any annual contract or monthly useage charges after purchase, The only operating cost is the mobile network service provider use-like a mobile phone (Plus GoogleEarth if used commercially); providing a cost effective DIY tracking facility. NOTE: Ftting of an external voltage regulator is only recommended if the cars electrical condition is poor or the power supply(voltage) of the battery is unstable! |
